OneSignal is the best-known push notification platform, and for many teams it’s a good choice. But if you only need web push for a website or an online shop, you may want something simpler, with prices that are easier to predict as you grow.

Here are seven OneSignal alternatives for web push. Disclosure: we make Push Agent, the first one on the list. Prices come from each provider’s own pages, checked in October 2026.

Why people look for a OneSignal alternative

  • They only need web push. OneSignal also covers mobile apps, email, SMS and in-app messages, which adds settings many websites never use.
  • The free plan’s per-send limit. The free plan has no cap on web subscribers, but each notification reaches up to 10,000 of them.
  • Pricing as they grow. The Growth plan is $19 a month plus usage, so the bill depends on your audience.
  • They want something built for their platform, such as a WordPress, Joomla or WooCommerce integration with order updates.

1. Push Agent

Push Agent does one thing: web push for websites and online shops. It uses the standard Web Push protocol with VAPID keys, so there’s no Firebase setup, and every plan includes unlimited notifications.

  • Free: 2,500 subscribers on one site, with delivery and click stats.
  • Starter ($9/month): 25,000 subscribers on 3 sites, no branding, your own opt-in text and timing, scheduling, and targeting by country, device and browser.
  • Growth ($19/month): 100,000 subscribers on 10 sites, A/B testing, RSS auto-sending, WooCommerce order updates and the REST API.
  • Business ($39/month): 250,000 subscribers on unlimited sites.
  • Plugins for WordPress and Joomla, and one line of code for any other site.

Choose it if you want web push without the extra channels, and a monthly price that only changes when you choose a bigger plan. Look elsewhere if you need mobile app push, email or SMS in the same tool.

2. Webpushr

Up to 10,000 subscribers free, with all features on every plan, according to Webpushr. Paid plans start at $29 a month for 50,000 subscribers. A good fit if you want a big free allowance and don’t mind a larger first paid step.

3. SendPulse

SendPulse combines email, chatbots and web push. The free web push plan covers 10,000 subscribers with unlimited notifications; branding removal, segmentation, A/B testing and the API start with Pro at $24 a month for 30,000 subscribers.

4. PushAlert

PushAlert offers 3,000 free subscribers and paid plans from $12 a month. Higher plans add automated A/B testing and shop alerts such as abandoned cart, price drop and back in stock.

5. PushEngage

PushEngage is popular with WordPress and WooCommerce sites and has many automation features. The free plan (200 subscribers and 30 notifications) is mainly a trial, so expect to pay from the start.

6. iZooto

iZooto is built for publishers, with tools for news sites and a free option funded by sponsored notifications. Paid plans are aimed at larger media audiences.

7. Pushwoosh

Pushwoosh covers mobile app and web push with usage-based pricing, and the first 1,000 monthly active users each month are free. A good fit for teams with a mobile app as well as a website.

How to switch from OneSignal

  1. Plan for re-subscribing. Subscriptions belong to the service that collected them and usually can’t be moved. After the switch, visitors allow notifications again the next time they visit.
  2. Remove OneSignal completely: its plugin or code, and its service worker files. Two push services on one site get in each other’s way.
  3. Install the new service. With Push Agent: WordPress, Joomla or any website.
  4. Tell your subscribers. A last OneSignal notification a few days before the switch, such as “We’re updating our notifications, tap Allow again next time you visit”, helps you keep more of your audience.
  5. Clear your cache and test in a private window.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free alternative to OneSignal for web push?

It depends on what you need. Webpushr and SendPulse offer up to 10,000 free subscribers. Push Agent offers 2,500 free subscribers with unlimited notifications and simple plugins for WordPress, Joomla and WooCommerce.

Can I move my OneSignal subscribers to another service?

Usually not. Subscriptions are tied to the keys of the service that collected them, so visitors need to allow notifications again after you switch.

Do I need Firebase to use a OneSignal alternative?

Not with Push Agent. It uses the standard Web Push protocol with VAPID keys, so you don’t need a Firebase project.

Is there a OneSignal alternative with WooCommerce order notifications?

Yes. Push Agent sends WooCommerce order status updates on the Growth plan, using messages you write for each status.

Can I run OneSignal and another push service at the same time?

It isn’t recommended. Each service registers its own service worker, and they can conflict. Remove OneSignal before installing the new service.
